Description
What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
26.911.7940.0
What subscription do you have?
Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 x64
What platform is your computer?
In the Codex Pet Mini interface, the composer initially works normally: I can click the input field and enter text. However, after entering text once, the existing draft becomes non-editable before it is sent. I can still send the current text, but I cannot revise or correct it in the Mini composer. This makes it impossible to fix typos or change the prompt before sending.
What issue are you seeing?
In the Codex Pet Mini interface, the composer initially works normally: I can click the input field and enter text.
However, after entering text once, the existing draft becomes non-editable before it is sent. I can still send the current text, but I cannot revise or correct it in the Mini composer.
This makes it impossible to fix typos or change the prompt before sending.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
- Wake the Codex desktop pet.
- Open the Mini input/composer.
- Click the input field.
- Type some text, but do not send it.
- Try to edit the existing text.
- Observe that the draft can no longer be edited, while the Send action still works.
What is the expected behavior?
The Mini composer should remain fully editable until the message is sent.
After entering text, I should still be able to move the caret, insert or delete characters, select text, and correct the draft before submitting it.

The issue occurs specifically in the Codex Pet Mini composer.
The current draft can still be sent; only editing the draft is blocked.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in the Codex Pet Mini composer on Windows: enter text without sending it, then try to move the caret, edit, select, or delete characters. Trace the Mini composer input handling and verify that the draft remains fully editable until Send is used.
