Description
What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
ChatGPT Powered by Codex & OWL, version 26.911.61220 (released September 16, 2026)
What subscription do you have?
Plus
What platform is your computer?
Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS, kernel 6.17.0-1032-oem, GNOME Shell 46.0, Wayland session. Bundled/available Codex CLI: 0.154.0.
What issue are you seeing?
When the Codex Pet is visible as a floating desktop overlay, clicking the Send arrow in a Microsoft Teams chat (PWA) does not send the message. Instead, the click passes through the Pet overlay and activates the application or window underneath Teams, similar to clicking another app in the dock/task switcher.
This blocks normal Teams chat usage while the Pet is displayed.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
- Start Codex Desktop on Ubuntu 24.04 under a Wayland session.
- Show the floating Codex Pet using /pet.
- Open Microsoft Teams and enter text in a chat.
- Click the Send arrow in Teams while the Pet remains visible.
What is the expected behavior?
The Teams Send control should receive the click and send the message. The Pet overlay must not intercept or redirect clicks outside its visible interactive area.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue through the Codex Desktop /pet entry point on Ubuntu 24.04 under Wayland, then trace the floating Pet overlay's input behavior. Done means the Teams Send control receives clicks outside the Pet's visible interactive area while the Pet remains usable within that area.
