Description

What version of the Codex App are you using (From "About Codex" dialog)?

V26.908.70816

What subscription do you have?

Plus

What platform is your computer?

Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS (Linux 7.0.0-31-generic x86_64 unknown)

What issue are you seeing?

I'm seeing inconsistent styling across panels and menus in Codex Desktop — it feels like different components follow different design standards:

  1. When I click "add files" or "more", the panel that opens has no blur effect, unlike the other elements in the app which do have it.
  2. When I click the three-dots menu on a conversation, the menu that appears looks much different from the whole UI design — it doesn't match the rest of the app.

I've also noticed some other components missing the blur effect. I'd love to see a consistent blur treatment applied to all possible components — this is a product quality improvement, and I hope Codex will hold some good design standards going forward.

I have two screenshots showing both cases

What steps can reproduce the bug?
  1. Open Codex Desktop.
  2. Click "add files" or "more" in the composer — observe the opened panel has no blur effect while surrounding elements do.
  3. Click the three-dots menu on a conversation — observe the menu design looks noticeably different from the rest of the UI.
What is the expected behavior?

All panels, popovers, and menus should share one consistent visual treatment (including the blur effect), matching the rest of the Codex Desktop UI.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue in Codex Desktop on Ubuntu using the add-files, more, and conversation three-dots menus described in the report. Compare those panels and menus with the surrounding UI, then consider the work complete when their visual treatment and blur behavior are consistent across the reported components.
