Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue through the Codex desktop app's SSH connection feature: hold a long conversation on a server, quit and restart the app, and compare the restored history with the original. The issue names no files or tests, so trace the SSH session and chat-history reload entry points first. Done means the full conversation remains available after an app restart.
