Description

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.831.21537

What subscription do you have?

Plus

What platform is your computer?

Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 x64

What issue are you seeing?

When the Codex agent environment is set to WSL on the Windows desktop app, I can no longer add or remove projects. The project management actions work again immediately after switching the agent environment back to Windows native.

What steps can reproduce the bug?
  1. Open the ChatGPT desktop app for Windows.
  2. Open Codex.
  3. Set the agent environment to WSL2 in Settings.
  4. Restart the app as requested.
  5. Try to add a project from the project sidebar using a path under \\wsl$\, such as:
    \\wsl$\Ubuntu\home\<username>\<project>
  6. Try to remove an existing project from the project list.
  7. Switch the agent environment back to Windows native and restart the app.
  8. Try adding or removing the project again.
What is the expected behavior?

Project management should continue to work regardless of whether the Codex agent runs in Windows native or WSL2.

Additional information

Adding and removing projects fails or is unavailable when the Codex agent runs in WSL2. The same operations work after switching the agent environment back to Windows native.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the failure in the Codex Windows desktop app with the agent environment set to WSL2, using the project sidebar and a path under \wsl$. Compare adding and removing projects in WSL2 with the same actions after switching to Windows native; done means both operations work in either environment.
