Description

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.901.6511.0

What subscription do you have?

Not provided

What platform is your computer?

Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 x64 (Windows 11)

What issue are you seeing?

On a Work Louder Creator Micro 2, the rotary dial does not respond in cloud chats when configured for either Reasoning only or Composer navigation.

There is no visible reaction: the Agent Key does not change color, UI focus does not move, and no Reasoning selection opens or changes.

The problem appears limited to these dial handlers in cloud chats:

  • Volume control and conversation scrolling work.
  • Buttons for running chats and completed chats work.
  • Pressing and holding the dial inside a cloud chat reliably opens the Creator Micro 2 device settings, so dial input is reaching the app.
  • In chats running under Computer, the dial cycles through Reasoning levels correctly.
  • In the same affected cloud chat, models and Reasoning levels can be selected manually with the mouse or with Ctrl+Shift+M and the arrow keys.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
  1. Connect a Work Louder Creator Micro 2.
  2. Open a cloud chat in the Codex desktop app on Windows 11.
  3. Configure the rotary dial for Reasoning only.
  4. Rotate or press the dial to select a Reasoning level.
  5. Observe that nothing happens: no Agent Key color change, no UI focus change, and no selection.
  6. Repeat with Composer navigation and observe the same result.
  7. Press and hold the same dial; the device settings open correctly.
  8. Open a chat running under Computer and test the dial again; Reasoning selection works correctly there.
What is the expected behavior?

The Reasoning only and Composer navigation dial modes should respond in cloud chats in the same way they do in chats running under Computer, allowing Reasoning levels or composer controls to be navigated and selected.

Additional information

An AutoHotkey script that was previously used has been completely disabled. All other Creator Micro 2 functions tested so far work correctly.

Research direction

Start by tracing the Creator Micro 2 dial handlers for cloud chats and compare them with the working Computer-chat path. Reproduce the Reasoning only and Composer navigation cases on Windows 11, then verify that dial input changes focus or selection and matches the existing mouse and keyboard behavior.
