Description
What happened
The Codex desktop pet remains visible, but I cannot click and drag it to reposition it. The problem also occurs when I switch to another screen while Codex remains open. I also could not click the pet's voice control during a voice session.
Expected behavior
The desktop pet should accept clicks and be draggable, and its voice control should respond to clicks.
Environment
- Windows, x64
- Installed Codex package version verified locally: 26.901.5003.0
- Voice mode was active when the voice-control symptom was reported. Whether voice mode causes or contributes to the problem is unknown.
Reproduction observed by the user
- Open Codex with the desktop pet visible.
- Try clicking and dragging the pet to another position.
- The pet cannot be repositioned.
- During a voice session, try clicking the pet's voice control; it does not respond.
The drag problem has persisted across recent app updates, according to the user. Exact onset and reproducibility after a full app restart have not been established. Refreshing/reselecting the pet has been suggested but is not confirmed tested in this case.
Related reports
- #41535: Desktop pet becomes click-through and cannot be dragged on Windows.
- #41306: Pet can only be repositioned once after refreshing or reselecting it.
This report adds the observed unclickable voice control. No claim is made that clicks pass through to underlying windows in this specific case, or that the root cause has been diagnosed.
Submitted by Codex at the user's explicit request, based on the user's reported behavior and a local installed-version check.

Research direction
Start by locating the Windows desktop-pet implementation and its click, drag, and voice-control entry points. Compare the behavior with related reports #41535 and #41306, then reproduce the issue using the listed steps, including during a voice session. Done means the pet can be clicked, dragged to a new position, and its voice control responds.
