*Windows app reasoning effort resets from Extra High to Instant
After updating the ChatGPT/Codex Windows desktop app, the reasoning effort selection no longer persists.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open a Chat conversation in the Windows desktop app.
2. Open the reasoning effort picker.
3. Select Extra High.
4. Close the picker.
5. Open the picker again.

Expected behavior:
The reasoning effort remains set to Extra High.

Actual behavior:
The selection immediately resets to Instant. The composer also displays Instant.

Additional information:

• This reproduces consistently.
• Extra High works correctly on chatgpt.com using the same account, Business workspace, project, and conversation.
• I fully terminated the app using Task Manager and reopened it.
• I ran Windows Settings > Apps > ChatGPT/Codex > Advanced options > Repair.
• Repairing and restarting the app did not resolve the issue.
• Installed package: OpenAI.Codex_26.901.1978.0_x64__2p2nqsd0c76g0

1. Sign in to the ChatGPT/Codex Windows desktop app with a Business account.
2. Open an existing Chat conversation.
3. Open the reasoning effort picker in the message composer.
4. Move the slider from Instant to Extra High.
5. Click outside the picker to close it.
6. Observe that the composer still displays Instant.
7. Open the reasoning effort picker again.

Actual behavior

The slider has returned to the first position and the selected reasoning effort is shown as Instant. The Extra
High selection is not saved or applied.

Expected behavior

The picker and composer should retain and display Extra High after the picker is closed.

Reproduction rate

Occurs every time.

• Fully terminated the app using Windows Task Manager.
• Reopened the app and tested again.
• Used Windows Settings > Apps > ChatGPT/Codex > Advanced options > Repair.
