Allow purchasing paid Codex instant resets from mobile / Remote Control

Please expose the paid Codex instant usage reset purchase flow in the ChatGPT mobile app / Codex Remote Control experience.

Current problem

I am a ChatGPT Plus user who relies on Codex Remote Control while away from my computer. When I exhaust my Codex allowance, the paid instant reset (currently about $8 on my account) is exactly the product I want: a small, one-off extension that lets me finish active work.

However, I cannot find a way to purchase that reset from iOS / Remote Control. The proactive purchase surface appears to be available only from the desktop Usage UI. If I am away from my computer for several days, that leaves me blocked even though:

• my Codex host is online and reachable through Remote Control;
• I am willing to pay for the instant reset;
• switching the workload to API pricing does not make economic sense for this use case; and
• upgrading from Plus to Pro is far too large a jump for an occasional burst of additional usage.

This is particularly frustrating because the ~$8 reset is a very good fit for the actual demand curve: I do not need a different subscription tier, I just need another bounded chunk of Codex capacity when a project happens to run long.

Desired behavior

At minimum, when an account is eligible for a paid instant reset, provide a purchase action from either:

1. Codex Remote Control on mobile, ideally directly in the usage-limit state; or
2. ChatGPT mobile Settings → Usage.

Ideally both surfaces would show the same quota/reset state as desktop and allow the same purchase.

A blocked Remote Control session could simply offer something like:

Usage limit reached — Buy instant reset

with the existing purchase confirmation flow.

Why this matters

Remote Control is specifically valuable when the user is away from the machine running Codex. Making the recovery/purchase action desktop-only undermines that use case at exactly the moment Remote Control matters most.

The instant-reset product itself is excellent for users whose usage is bursty: included Plus capacity most of the time, with an occasional paid bump, rather than API billing or a permanent jump to Pro.

Related

#25223 requests a broader mobile Profile/Usage surface, including rate-limit and credit status. This request is narrower and specifically about making the paid instant-reset purchase/redeem path available from mobile / Remote Control, so a user who is already remote does not need physical access to the desktop just to buy more Codex capacity.

Review the Codex Remote Control usage-limit state and the ChatGPT mobile Settings → Usage surface described here, then compare them with the existing desktop Usage purchase flow. Check related issue #25223 for the broader mobile Profile/Usage context; done means eligible users can purchase or redeem an instant reset from mobile or Remote Control with matching quota state and confirmation behavior.
