Description

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

Version 26.825.51511

What subscription do you have?

ChatGPT Plus

What platform is your computer?

Windows 11 Pro x64 and Windows Server 2025 x64

What issue are you seeing?

I can reproduce the same issue on two different Windows machines:

  • Windows 11 Pro x64
  • Windows Server 2025 x64
The same previously deleted chats remain visible in the Codex App on both computers.
However, those chats are already gone on the mobile app while using the same OpenAI/ChatGPT account.
This suggests the conversations are deleted server-side, but stale entries remain synchronized/displayed in the Windows Codex App.
    Codex App version: 26.825.51511
In my case, the issue is reproducible across two different Windows systems, not just one local installation.
What steps can reproduce the bug?

Feedback ID: no-active-thread-01a05bfa-5044-7902-b552-96e5e5161def

What is the expected behavior?

Deleted chats should disappear from the Recents list on all devices after deletion and should not reappear or remain visible in the Codex App.

Additional information

The issue is reproducible on two separate computers running different Windows versions, but with the same OpenAI/ChatGPT account.
The exact same deleted chats remain visible on both Windows computers while being correctly absent on mobile.
This suggests that the conversations have already been deleted server-side, but stale entries remain displayed or synchronized in the Windows Codex App.
Codex App version: 26.825.51511

Research direction

Start with feedback ID no-active-thread-01a05bfa-5044-7902-b552-96e5e5161def and the Windows Codex App recents behavior described in the report. Reproduce on the listed Windows versions using the same account, then verify that deleted chats disappear from the Recents list and do not reappear.
