Chrome extension can claim tabs and read title/URL, but DOM reads and screenshots time out

Summary

On macOS arm64, Codex/ChatGPT Desktop can discover and claim already signed-in Shopee and Mercado Libre tabs in Chrome, and it can read the page title and URL. However, deeper DOM/page-content reads and screenshots time out after roughly 20 seconds.

Reproduction

1. Open a signed-in Shopee Seller Center or Mercado Libre seller tab in Chrome.
2. Ask Codex to connect to the existing Chrome tab.
3. Reading the tab title and URL succeeds.
4. Reading deeper page content/DOM or taking a screenshot times out.
5. The same behavior reproduces in a newly created Codex task.

Troubleshooting already attempted

• Updated/reinstalled and restarted Chrome.
• Reinstalled/restarted ChatGPT Desktop and the Browser/Chrome plugin.
• Reinstalled/enabled the ChatGPT Chrome extension.
• Added browsing permissions for:
  • seller.shopee.cn
  • global-selling.mercadolibre.com
• Rebooted Codex and Chrome.
• No seller data was modified during the tests.
