$ opens Skills/Apps popup and cannot be disabled

What issue are you seeing?

In the ChatGPT/Codex desktop Work composer, typing a dollar sign ($) opens the Skills/Apps mention picker. This interferes with normal text entry, especially for financial and accounting work where dollar amounts are entered constantly. There is no apparent setting to disable or remap this trigger.

What is the expected behavior?

A dollar sign should be entered as ordinary text. The Skills/Apps popup should use a non-conflicting trigger, or Settings should provide an option to disable or remap the $ trigger.

Additional information

This is especially disruptive in accounting workflows. Pressing Escape dismisses the popup for that occurrence, but doing this for every dollar amount is not a practical long-term workaround.

No source files or tests are named. Start in the ChatGPT/Codex desktop Work composer by reproducing the issue with a dollar sign, then trace the input and Skills/Apps picker entry point. Done means dollar amounts enter as ordinary text while the picker remains usable through a non-conflicting trigger or configurable setting.
