Description

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.825.41651

What subscription do you have?

PRO

What platform is your computer?

Darwin 25.6.0 arm64 arm

What issue are you seeing?

Regression: collapsed pasted-text cards cannot be expanded
Since the latest Codex update, long pasted messages appear in a collapsed black card. The ellipsis/“Show more” indicator does nothing when clicked. The only way to read the complete message is to enter Edit mode. Previously, the full message was directly visible.
Expected: Clicking “Show more” or the card expands it. Ideally, also provide an “Always expand pasted text” preference.
Actual: Clicking the expansion indicator does nothing.
This significantly disrupts workflows involving long handoffs between sessions.
Codex version: 26.825.41651
Release date: August 29, 2026

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue in the Codex App with a long pasted message, using the issue's version and Darwin platform details, then trace the pasted-text card and its “Show more” interaction. Done means clicking the expansion indicator reliably reveals the complete pasted message instead of requiring Edit mode; consider the preference request separately.
