Description

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

Codex web app / Work Mode (version not shown in UI)

What subscription do you have?

ChatGPT Plus

What platform is your computer?

macOS 10.15.7 (Intel), Chrome 151

What issue are you seeing?

Computer Use repeatedly turns itself off without any user action. When this happens, browser control stops and I cannot continue working.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Feedback ID: no-active-thread-01a04167-0e73-7b32-bcf8-64e058886166

What is the expected behavior?

Computer Use should remain enabled for the entire browser task unless I explicitly turn it off, so the task can continue without interruption.

Additional information

The issue is recurring and blocks completion of browser-based work.

Research direction

Start with the Codex web app/Work Mode path that manages Computer Use state, then use feedback ID no-active-thread-01a04167-0e73-7b32-bcf8-64e058886166 to investigate repeated deactivation on macOS 10.15.7 with Chrome 151. Done means Computer Use remains enabled during a browser task unless the user turns it off, with a regression test covering the failure.
