Description

Codex app version

26.820.60940

Released on August 25, 2026

Operating system

Windows

Description

The Codex Windows app signs me out whenever I open a new chat and send any message. After signing in again, the same problem happens every time.

Steps to reproduce
  1. Sign in to the Codex Windows app.
  2. Open a new chat.
  3. Type and send any message.
  4. The app signs the account out automatically.
Expected behavior

The account should remain signed in and the new chat should work normally.

Actual behavior

The account is signed out immediately after sending a message in a new chat.

Frequency

Every time.

Research direction

No files, tests, or code entry points are named. First reproduce the sign-out using the stated Windows app version and steps, then trace the authentication flow triggered when sending a message in a new chat. Done means a new chat can send a message without signing the account out, with regression coverage where the relevant flow is found.
