Description

What platform is your computer?
Windows 11 Pro
What issue are you seeing?
I completely removed the ChatGPT/Codex app, including the registry entries and local files, because I noticed that some deleted chats were still showing up in the Windows app.
After reinstalling the app, I'm now stuck during the Codex Windows setup. I get the following error:
“Setup didn’t finish. Setup could not complete.”
My config.toml contains:
sandbox = "unelevated"
I tried renaming config.toml to force the app to create a new one. I also tried the same with auth.json, but neither worked.
I also tried reinstalling and repairing the app, with no success.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
What steps can reproduce the bug?
