Desktop app version: 26.818.61809

What platform is your computer?
mac OS14.7,4 x86_64
What issue are you seeing?
The in-app browser opens pages normally and the Browser plugin is installed, but Codex cannot control the page because the node_repl MCP tools are not exposed to the task. Restarting and reinstalling the latest desktop app does not resolve the issue.

Research direction
Start with the attached Codex_Browser_Error_Report_2026-08-24.md files and trace how the desktop app exposes MCP tools to tasks. Reproduce the report's browser-control steps; done means the node_repl tools are available to the task and Codex can control an opened page.
