Description

What variant of Codex are you using?

Windows, GUI app

What feature would you like to see?

Can we have some sort of visibility, ideally a countdown timer that shows cache expiry?
Also: can we make models aware of their subagents' cache status, and auto kill any subagent that has expired cache?

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points; begin by tracing cache-expiry handling and the Windows GUI status display, then identify how subagent lifecycle state is represented. Done requires an agreed scope, visible expiry status, defined behavior for expired subagents, and corresponding tests.
