ChatGPT 26.818.21641
What subscription do you have?
ChatGPT Pro 20x
What platform is your computer?
Darwin 24.6.0 arm64 arm
What issue are you seeing?
The first message in a new Codex chat works normally, but when I send a second message in the same conversation, Codex fails with:
Error creating chat
{"value":{},"source":"owned","hooks":[],"promises":[]}
The error is reproducible and happens after the first successful interaction.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Open Codex Desktop on macOS.
Create a new Codex chat.
Send the first message.
Codex responds normally.
Send a second message in the same chat.
The second message fails and the following error appears:
Error creating chat
{"value":{},"source":"owned","hooks":[],"promises":[]}
What is the expected behavior?
I should be able to continue the existing conversation and send follow-up messages normally.

Research direction
Reproduce the failure in Codex Desktop on macOS by creating a chat, sending one message, and then sending a follow-up. Use the reported “Error creating chat” message and attached screenshot as the starting evidence; done means existing conversations accept second and subsequent messages normally.
