Bring ChatGPT Personalization and Preferences to Codex

What feature would you like to see?

I would love to see ChatGPT-style Personalization integrated into the Codex app.

ChatGPT already allows users to customize personality, style and tone, warmth, enthusiasm, verbosity, headings and lists, emoji usage, and other communication preferences. I would like Codex to support the same personalization options so the experience feels consistent across both products.

It would also be very useful if users could optionally bring their existing ChatGPT preferences into Codex, including:

Custom Instructions
Personalization settings and communication preferences
Saved Memory
Selected chat history or relevant context
Other user-approved preferences that help Codex understand how the user prefers to work

Users should have full control over what is shared, with clear opt-in/opt-out settings for privacy and flexibility.

Ideally, these settings could also be customized or overridden on a per-Project basis. For example, a user might want one Codex Project to be highly technical and concise, while another Project uses a more conversational or creative style.

Codex Projects can already retain persistent project sources and files, which is extremely useful. Adding persistent user preferences and optional ChatGPT context would feel like a natural next step.

This would make switching between ChatGPT and Codex much more seamless, reduce repeated setup, and make Codex more useful as a long-term workspace for users who regularly use both products.

The attached screenshots show the ChatGPT Personalization, Custom Instructions, and Memory settings that I would like to see optionally integrated with Codex.

Additional information

I use both ChatGPT and Codex regularly, and switching between them currently feels inconsistent because my communication preferences and working style do not carry over.

Having optional personalization and preference syncing would make Codex much more useful as a long-term workspace, especially for users who already have established preferences in ChatGPT.

I would also prefer this to be fully opt-in, so users can choose exactly what is shared between ChatGPT and Codex.

The issue does not identify files, tests, or entry points to start from. First locate the Codex Windows app's preference and project-settings entry points, then clarify the personalization, synchronization, privacy, and per-Project requirements before implementation; done would require an agreed scope and validated opt-in behavior.
