Description

Feature request

Please support receiving/sending attachments in Codex iOS Remote sessions, especially image and file attachments from the ChatGPT iOS app.

Use case

When controlling or continuing a Codex task from iOS, I often need to attach screenshots, photos, logs, PDFs, or other files so Codex can use them as context for the current turn. Today this is either unavailable or inconsistent depending on the remote/session state, which forces switching back to desktop.

Requested clarification

Is attachment support for Codex on iOS currently planned? If so, is there an expected timeline or supported scope, such as:

  • photos and screenshots
  • camera input
  • files from iOS Files
  • generated artifacts or local file links
  • attachments while steering an active remote task

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by reviewing related issues #36292, #37785, #37412, #37565, and #35926, then determine the supported attachment scope for Codex iOS Remote, including photos, camera input, Files, artifacts, and active-task steering. Done means a decided implementation scope and working attachment support across the selected cases.
