Codex doctor report
Having encountered many times the bug where Codex sees itself with the context windows full, and unable to compact it due to lack of context space, I compacted it manually, being at 63% if I remember correctly.
Having done this, I ask it to continue, and it says it cannot, due to having run out of context space, despite it reading 0% used in the status bar.
What issue are you seeing?

■ Codex ran out of room in the model's context window. Start a new thread or clear earlier history before retrying.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

What is the expected behavior?

Research direction

The issue names no files or tests; start by inspecting the uploaded thread and reproducing the report on Windows with Codex CLI 0.147.0. Trace the context-compaction status and out-of-context error paths, and consider the issue done when a manually compacted thread can continue instead of reporting that the context window is full.
