Description

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.810.7004.0

What subscription do you have?

Not provided. The same signed-in account and workspace are used on web and desktop.

What platform is your computer?

Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 x64

What issue are you seeing?

One ChatGPT cloud project is present and usable on the ChatGPT website but is omitted from the Windows desktop app's Projects index.

  • Project name: FamilyBridge
  • Project ID: g-p-6a739e7874248191a53f217e6906f70e
  • Membership: Owner
  • Same account/workspace confirmed on web and desktop
  • Three other ChatGPT cloud projects appear normally in the desktop Projects list
  • FamilyBridge remains absent after updating, repairing, resetting, signing in again, and reopening the app

This is not total cloud-project synchronization failure. The desktop app successfully lists other cloud projects but selectively omits this one.

The project is still partially known to the desktop app: an existing desktop task titled Homepage Mockup/Suggestions (thread 019fdf3b-b907-70b1-9aa4-10ccc9a34647) still references project ID g-p-6a739e7874248191a53f217e6906f70e. Opening that task directly works, but it does not restore FamilyBridge to the Projects list.

What steps can reproduce the bug?
  1. Sign in to chatgpt.com and the Windows desktop app using the same account and workspace.
  2. On the web, verify that FamilyBridge is visible and that the signed-in user is its Owner.
  3. In the Windows desktop app, open the Chat Projects view.
  4. Observe that three other cloud projects are listed but FamilyBridge is absent.
  5. Search for or directly open the existing Homepage Mockup/Suggestions desktop task.
  6. Observe that the task remains accessible and internally references the missing FamilyBridge project ID.
  7. Return to Projects; FamilyBridge is still absent.

Troubleshooting already completed without resolving the issue:

  • Updated the app to 26.810.7004.0
  • Windows Settings → Apps → ChatGPT → Advanced options → Repair
  • Windows Settings → Apps → ChatGPT → Advanced options → Terminate and Reset
  • Signed in again using the same account/workspace
  • Opened the linked desktop task directly
What is the expected behavior?

FamilyBridge should appear in the Windows desktop Projects list alongside the other ChatGPT cloud projects. A project that is accessible on the web, owned by the signed-in user, and referenced by an existing desktop task should not be omitted from the desktop project index.

Additional information

This may be a selective project-index or membership-reconciliation failure rather than a general synchronization failure.

Related issue: #32102 reports all cloud projects missing on Windows. This report differs because other cloud projects sync normally and only one project is omitted.

No relevant app logs were found in the standard .codex/log or .codex/logs locations. The app's project-list response contained the three other cloud projects but omitted project ID g-p-6a739e7874248191a53f217e6906f70e.

Research direction

Start in the Windows desktop Chat Projects view and inspect the project-list response, comparing the omitted FamilyBridge ID with the three projects that appear. Use the existing Homepage Mockup/Suggestions task as the reference for the missing project, since it remains accessible. Done means FamilyBridge appears in the Projects list alongside the other cloud projects.
