Description

I am running SuSE Linux 13.2 64bit. and have been using snapper for some time. However, after a recent update to snapper-0.3.3-9.1.x86_64, I am getting org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ExecFailed errors when running any snapper command. The snapper.log shows
dbus-daemon [system] Activated service 'org.opensuse.Snapper' failed: Failed to execute program org.opensuse.Snapper. The DBus org.opensuse.Snapper.service config points to /usr/sbin/snapperd. /usr/sbin/snapperd exists and runs when called directly.

I can list existing snapshots with snapper --no-dbus list.

Research direction

Start by inspecting the DBus org.opensuse.Snapper.service configuration and /usr/sbin/snapperd, then reproduce the failure with a normal snapper command and compare it with snapper --no-dbus list. Done means snapper commands work through DBus without Spawn.ExecFailed while direct no-DBus access continues to work.
