Description
Due to https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-python-contrib/blob/main/opentelemetry-instrumentation/src/opentelemetry/instrumentation/_semconv.py#L480 if my span already has a status code/description, this can override it (e.g., if I set span status description this will override it to be None)

Research direction
Start in opentelemetry-instrumentation/src/opentelemetry/instrumentation/_semconv.py at line 480 and trace how _set_status handles an existing span status. Check the related instrumentation tests, then verify that a pre-existing status code or description remains intact when the helper runs.
