Description
There is currently an OTEP Instrumentation API proposal to consolidate the API for instrumentations across all the languages.
Additionally, there is this Google Doc for the Instrumentation API Design.
Once that proposal is approved, we will need to audit our own opentelemetry-instrumentation package to ensure that is conforms to that API.
Once an audit is complete with any associated fixes, we can close this issue.
