Description

Presently ETW exporter itself implements a "mini-SDK", header-only. And it does not implement the Resource API. Whereas having a Resource API should allow us to populate "common attributes" reusable for each event.

Workaround:

  • customers must populate each key-value in the event map.

Solution wanted:

  • use Resource API to pre-populate some common attributes. Merge the resource map with event map before sending event down to ETW layer. Combined event should contain both - user-supplied attributes from AddEvent(...) API, as well as common resource attributes.
