Description

The flagd snap is dead and should be removed.

  • Published snap is stuck at v0.2.5 (2022-11-18); flagd is at 0.16.2 (snap info flagd).
  • Nothing builds or publishes it (no snap job in build.yaml or release-please.yaml).
  • The snap/snapcraft.yaml version marker is frozen at v0.4.2 (a stale release-please extra-files entry under flagd).
  • base: core20 is well past its prime.

Remove it: delete snap/, drop snap/snapcraft.yaml from extra-files in release-please-config.json, and unlist the snap on the store.

Surfaced while reviewing #2039, which touched snap/snapcraft.yaml; that change should just be reverted there.

Research direction

Start by inspecting snap/ and the snap/snapcraft.yaml entry in release-please-config.json, along with the release configuration references named in the issue. Done means the snap directory and extra-files entry are removed, and the flagd snap is unlisted from the store.
