Description

Currently we use GitHub as the primary hosting for OCaml.org git repositories.

We would like to have a backup git mirror independent of GitHub, but using the same conversion scripts so that repositories and branches can be shared between the two services. Ideally we could serve it off git.ocaml.org.

Research direction

Start with the Git source mirroring requirements in the linked OCaml.org infrastructure wiki page and review the existing conversion scripts referenced by the issue. Define how repositories and branches should be shared between GitHub and an independent mirror served from git.ocaml.org, then document the remaining requirements and features.
