Expected Behavior

No artifacts/window flickering when recording screen with "Windows 10 (1903 and up)" capture method and using applications that use Windows Aero Glass/Windows Acrylic effect, for e.g. Windows Terminal

Current Behavior

Artifacts/window flickering visible when recording screen with "Windows 10 (1903 and up)" capture method and recording applications that use Windows Aero Glass/Windows Acrylic effect. This is not happening when "DXGI Desktop Duplication" capture method is used.

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Add Display Capture to sources
  2. In the properties of Display Capture select "Windows 10 (1903 and up)" as capture method
  3. Capture the screen with a window that uses Windows Aero Glass/Windows Acrylic effect for e.g. Windows Terminal with transparent/acrylic background effect enabled
Anything else we should know?

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue in OBS Studio 29.1.3 with Display Capture set to “Windows 10 (1903 and up)” and a Windows Terminal window using the Acrylic effect. Compare the result with “DXGI Desktop Duplication” and inspect the linked OBS log; done means the artifacts and flickering no longer appear with the affected capture method.
