Research direction
Start by reviewing the OBS log at https://obsproject.com/logs/KKfLofSh36TK2uFZ and reproducing the issue on Windows 10 with OBS 27.2.4 or 28.0.0-4-g7396c211b. Test recording and Replay Buffer together, pause recording, then exit OBS. Done means OBS exits normally, the video is saved, and the lower-right icon disappears without ending the process in Task Manager.
