Expected Behavior
The Text (GDI+) should apply the font to all of the symbols in the provided text
Current Behavior
It does not apply the font to specific symbols (Kazakh Cyrillic)
Steps to Reproduce
- Add Text (GDI+) to a scene
- Give it a list of characters specific to Kazakh language (Ә, Ғ, Қ, Ң, Ө, Ұ, Ү, Һ) along with some regular characters
- Select a font that has those characters covered (in this case I am using the Rodin font)
- You will see that the Kazakh characters are left with the stock font, while the rest of the text is styled as expected
Anything else we should know?

Here is a screenshot that confirms that the font indeed does support those characters, with the Text (GDI+) preview on the bottom.
I expect there's more than just these characters that are not getting affected by the fonts, but these are the only ones I have found so far.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in OBS Studio 27.2.4 on Windows 10 using Text (GDI+), the Rodin font, and the listed Kazakh characters; review the provided OBS log for relevant entry points. Done means the selected font is applied to Ә, Ғ, Қ, Ң, Ө, Ұ, Ү, Һ as well as regular characters, with regression coverage if the existing test structure supports it.
