Research direction
Start by reviewing the OBS log at https://obsproject.com/logs/4leKaRa3y4pLTEzq and reproducing the listed Windows 10 setup with Minecraft 1.8.9, Game Capture, and F11 fullscreen switching. Compare built-in versus external displays and Game Capture versus Window Capture; done means the built-in-display configuration no longer crashes Minecraft.
