Expected Behavior
Sync Offset should always work
Current Behavior
Sync offset does NOT work until you touch the UI control.
Steps to Reproduce
- Set up an Audio Sync Offset (in my case 280ms to compensate for a really slow camera)
- Add an Audio Visualizer of some kind, add a render delay of 280ms
- Exit and re-start OBS
- Record or Stream, do some noises. You should see your audio visualizer obviously delayed as you do this
- Look back at recording - audio will NOT be in sync
- Go to Advanced Audio Options
- Touch the Audio Sync Offset value
- Record again - AUDIO IS IN SYNC
- Exit and restart OBS
- Record again. Audio is back out of sync
...
You can even see this within a single recording session. I can
- Launch OBS
- Start a recording (this will be out of sync)
- Open advanced audio settings, touch the value
- From here, the audio WILL be in sync
See video demo
Anything else we should know?
The problem seems to be offsets are not applied until the dialog is shown... or in some other case..... seems random.... but in a freshly launched OBS, for sure they are not.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue on Windows 10 with OBS Studio 27.1.1, following the audio sync and render-delay steps in the report. Review the linked OBS log and video demonstration, then verify that the configured sync offset is applied immediately after launch and remains correct across recordings and restarts.
