Expected Behavior

I expect OBS even when using DLSS Frame Generation, it will be fully recorded at 60 FPS in the NVIDIA app.

(Sample recorded using the NVIDIA app)

Current Behavior

When using DLSS Frame Generation, only the non-generated frames are recorded.
ex1) If i use 2× generation (e.g., 30 → 60 FPS), only 30 FPS can be captured in OBS.
ex2) FSR Frame Generation is captured normally.

(Sample recorded using OBS)

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Capture a game without DLSS Frame Generation using OBS.
  2. Enable the DLSS Frame Generation option in the game.
  3. OBS only captures FPS as before enabling DLSS Frame Generation.
Anything else we should know?

= I installed driver version 576.40, which is earlier than 580.88, but I still could not capture Frame Generation scenes in OBS.
= My GPU is a 5070 Ti, so it seems that the issue cannot be resolved by downgrading the driver.

=It appears to be a common issue that occurs not just for me, but for others as well.

=There was someone who posted about the same issue around two years ago.

using display capture, third-party overlay game capture, cursor capture, and anti cheat capture disable did not make any difference.

As of now, the only solution I’ve identified is to use an HDMI capture card and capture via a pass-through connection to the monitor.
If connect the capture card using display mirroring, Frame Generated scenes are not transmitted to the capture card.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue on Windows 11 with OBS Studio 32.1.1, a GeForce 5070 Ti, and DLSS Frame Generation enabled, then review the linked OBS Studio log. Compare OBS capture with the NVIDIA app and FSR Frame Generation cases. Done means OBS records the generated frames at the expected 60 FPS without regressing normal capture.
