Expected Behavior
Preview window should not stutter. OBS should not crash.
Current Behavior
I switched my renderer to Metal from OpenGL.
I fired up my livestream. I noticed some dropped frames right from the getgo but it wasn't critical. However...
I accidentally moved the OBS window maybe a centimeter, and doing so caused the preview window to drop to 1FPS. You'll observe this in the logs.
The stream and recording stayed smooth despite the preview window having a stroke, but, OBS hard crashed about 30-40 minutes later.
Never had this issue happen before in previous versions/on OpenGL.
Steps to Reproduce
- Switch to Metal Renderer in Settings -> Advanced
- Start stream
- Look at stats, or watch the preview window if you're unlucky enough like I was
- Observe that the system's CPU usage is perfectly normal.

Research direction
Start by reviewing the two OBS log URLs and the Metal Renderer setting under Settings → Advanced, then reproduce the preview slowdown while streaming on macOS. Done means the preview remains responsive after moving the OBS window and OBS does not crash during the reported streaming period.
