Browser sources are freezing intermittently

Browser sources should not freeze.

Current Behavior

Hi, this is a follow up to my previous issue #12772.

I have filed several support request both in forum and on OBS discord. No one was able to debug my issue. Also this is not an issue of missing RAM (I have verified it).

The issue is that apparently browser sources will randomly freeze for me. This is happening "intermittently", meaning it is unpredictable and does not happen every time. However once it does happen it is "permanent" (until OBS restart).

Also, I do have noticed that I can "trigger" this bug by switching scenes. For instance, I have animated webcam frames and often the animation will be frozen after a scene change.

The more tricky issue are browser sources that are not immediately visible. For instance stream alerts. These will obviously hang without me noticing it. I have had a stream were two people followed without me getting an alert.

Also, this is NOT a streamlabs/streamelements/own3d/etc issue. This happens to EVERY browser source (not at once, but one by one will freeze up).

This is ALSO an issue with browser "docks" like the twitch stats dock. Once it happens it usually hangs indefinitely until I right click -> refresh. It will remain in this state until I manually refresh again.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create two scenes
2. Add an animated browser source, and another (different) animated browser source to the second scene
3. Switch between those two scenes until you see that it froze
4. Sometimes it is hard to trigger and sometimes it will happen fast
5. I am NOT sure this happens exclusively on scene changes, however there does seem to be a correlation in my testing. Not sure why docks are affected.

Anything else we should know?

To resolve this issue, once it happens with a browser source, one can go to the browser source properties and select to delete cache. This will "fix" the freeze. Another workaround I have found it to enable "refresh source on scene change".

However afaik both actions are not possible for "docks", like the twitch dock.

Or lastly restarting OBS will fix it as well (until it happens again).

Another important note:

The logs do NOT show anything related to the freeze! I have had the log open with vscode side-by-side with OBS while triggering the bug and there IS NO LOG that is relevant to this bug. So the log I have posted here is actually of no use.

Please do NOT close this bug report. I have extensively tested this bug. I can reproduce it. It did happen on a live stream, and does happen continuously. It is not a RAM issue. This is NOT a support issue. My system is set up correctly and I am willing to help debug this issue.

No source file, test, or entry point is named. Start by reproducing the freeze with the listed scene-switching steps, then review the OBS log URL and prior issue #12772 while comparing browser sources with docks. Done means browser sources and docks remain responsive across repeated scene switches, without requiring a refresh or OBS restart.
