Expected Behavior
Our setup has 3 Sony SRG-360SHE PTZ cameras, which support the RTSP protocol. We take every update of OBS Studio when it is available. Previous versions of OBS Studio (say, the one we used over the summer of 2025; presumably 31.1 and prior versions) worked without any issues. Now, on version 32.0.1 we are experiencing a freezing on our video sources. First one camera freezes, then they 3 freeze. The only workaround I've found is to Force Quit OBS Studio and restart it. Fiddling with the properties of the video stream (changing the IP address, changing the buffer size, toggling the hardware-assist option, etc.) have no effect. We have defined 7 scenes, of which 3 are for the Sony cameras, 1 is for slides, and the remaining 3 scenes are unused (they are established for cameras is a different room, which are unaddressable in the current room). Each camera scene has one source; a camera whose URL is of the form rtsp://USER:PASSWORD@IPADDRESS:554/media/video1. Since the cameras are independent of each other, and since they are still able to be adjusted using a separate PTZ controller, I'm quite certain that the issue here is within OBS Studio itself. We enable the Virtual Camera (the V.C. goes to Zoom). We use Studio Mode. We do not ask OBS Studio to record the session. This is purely a live broadcast. It's a pretty vanilla setup. Normal CPU usage reported by OBS Studio as 6 to 7%.
Current Behavior
One video source (scene/source) freezes. I have not found a workaround. Eventually all 3 video sources freeze and the program hangs.
Steps to Reproduce
- Start OBS Studio 32.0.1.
- Run for ~90+ minutes (1 hr 57 minutes today).
- One of the 3 scenes/sources hangs.
- Soon (say, 5+ minutes), all 3 scenes/sources hang and the program must be force quit and restarted.

We are using a 2019 iMac with Retina 4K, 21.5", 3.2GHz 6-core Intel Core i7, Radeon Pro 555X 2GB memory; 3 monitors (PC + 2 more). OBS Studio uses the main monitor (4096x2304) and a Dell S2719H monitor (1920x1080) for multi view (4 scenes). Zoom is on the 3rd monitor.
This behavior is quite new; only since upgrading to 32.x.

Research direction
Start with the current and previous OBS log files linked in the issue, then review the RTSP source setup and the reported 90+ minute reproduction sequence. Compare the logs around the first source freeze and subsequent hang; done means identifying and documenting a reproducible cause or fix for the RTSP sources freezing in OBS 32.0.1.
