Expected Behavior
When I resize the output to the source size, I should be able to record.
Current Behavior
Even though I am recording with mkv, no file is created in my output directory. A few seconds into the recording, this window appears, and the recording stops:
Steps to Reproduce
- Add a "Screen Capture (PipeWire)" source
- Select a window
- Right click the source, then press "Resize output (source size)"
- Click "Start Recording"
Anything else we should know?
I can reproduce it consistently; restarting OBS after resizing, then recording seems to fix it.

Research direction
Start with the attached OBS log and reproduce the issue using the listed Screen Capture (PipeWire) and Resize output steps on Arch Linux. Trace the recording initialization after resizing and compare it with the behavior after restarting OBS; done means recording creates the expected MKV file without the muxer error.
