Description
What if instead of
(f => d => f(d / 1000))(d3.format("+.0%"))
you could say
Plot.format(d => d / 1000, "+.0%")
Where Plot.format(...formats) takes a list of functions and strings, converts the strings to functions by passing them to d3.format, and then returns a function that applies them in sequence.
Maybe it would even allow you to do stuff like
Plot.format("value", "+.0%")
where it would turn "value" into d => d.value because it knows that’s not a valid d3.format specifier.
(This is probably overkill but just writing down ideas to file away.)
