Description

It’d be nice to have a way to specify a color gradient, presumably spanning the chart area in either x or y, with some given color stops.

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named in the issue. Start by locating the chart-area rendering and color API entry points, then determine how color stops and x/y spans should be represented. Done means gradients can span the chart area in either direction using supplied color stops, with coverage for the supported cases.
