Description
For a data-based raster, the pointer targets the underlying sample points.
In some cases we will prefer to show the locally computed value instead. For example:
- iris + random walk: show the color of the interpolated point under the mouse
- Mandelbrot : like crosshair, but see the value/color of the point

Research direction
The issue does not name files, tests, or entry points. Review the existing raster pointer behavior and the iris/random-walk and Mandelbrot examples first; done means the pointer can show the locally computed interpolated value or color instead of only the underlying sample point.
