Hello Uberon Team,

The horse colon contains 4 distinct parts, not available so far in UBERON, could be applied to all Equidae, I guess (not found literature so far, will try):

  • right ventral
  • left ventral
  • right dorsal
  • left dorsal

Note that the 'pelvic flexure' such as described for horse is also not available in UBERON: "The large colon doubles back on itself and becomes narrower—from 8 inches (20 cm) in diameter to 3–4 inches (9 cm) in diameter—between the ventral and dorsal sections. This location is known as the pelvic flexure (Figure 9).", but UBERON:0022275 colic flexure exists, with a larger definition ("A sharp bend between consecutive segments of the colon.")

I wondering if at least UBERON classes related to ventral colon and dorsal colon could be created, because some transcriptomics studies support a dedicated function for each one:
