Description

Does this feature exist in Emacs orgmode core?

Yes

Feature value

No response

Additional context

Currently the default is to fold everything. I think it would be good if this feature could be changed as I personally (in most cases) don't like folds.

Research direction

Start by reading the existing configuration handling and the code that sets initial Org heading visibility. Compare that behavior with Emacs org-startup-folded and the linked Initial visibility documentation. Done means the default fold level can be selected through configuration and the resulting startup visibility matches the chosen setting.
