Description
It would be good to opt-in the image-generation for the module. For big websites, the generation of the images takes a very long time and will require a very big data transfer. The path should stay the same (_ipx/..) and has to be handled via Cloudfront or similar services

Research direction
No files or tests are named in the issue. Start by tracing the module's image-generation configuration and static-site handling, then determine how an opt-in switch can preserve the _ipx/.. path for CloudFront or a similar service. Done means static sites can disable generation while retaining that path and existing behavior remains available when enabled.
