Start by reproducing the Meson build with GCC 11.3 and -march=icelake-client, then inspect lib/x86simdsort-icl.cpp around the generated vpcompressw instructions. Check assembler and toolchain support for those instructions; done means the affected target builds without the reported assembler errors.
