Research direction
No files, tests, or entry points are named in the issue. Start by locating how float weights are represented and consumed in the Go implementation, then review callers and existing tests for assumptions about weight types. Done means an agreed integer or decimal representation is implemented consistently and its behavior is covered by tests.
