Description

We seem to be getting the follow error since 7.5.0 with pnpm;

../../node_modules/.pnpm/require-in-the-middle@7.5.2/node_modules/require-in-the-middle/index.js
Critical dependency: require function is used in a way in which dependencies cannot be statically extracted

Import trace for requested module:

Research direction

Reproduce the warning with pnpm after upgrading to 7.5.0, then trace the webpack import path from require-in-the-middle/index.js through the OpenTelemetry instrumentation entries shown in the issue. Compare the behavior before and after the relevant change; done means the critical dependency warning no longer appears without breaking the import path.
