Description

Can a roadmap be added to the README.md that details by when node-gyp won't require Python anymore? It's been almost a decade now (also: holy crap, it's been almost a decade now O_o) and needing a second scripting language to compile code for the primary scripting language is just as crazy as it was a decade ago.

Let's fix this, please =(

Research direction

Start with README.md and the issue's request to document when node-gyp will no longer require Python. Determine what roadmap information the maintainers can support and what milestone or timeline should be recorded; done means an agreed roadmap is added to the README. The issue has no comments and is over six years old, so confirm that the request is still relevant before starting.
