Description
We discussed it today during Solid Community Call, actually @jaxoncreed suggested it could go into init script.
I think to get started we can just have a private registry managed by solid community (just few people having access to data). Minimal data I would see needed:
- server-uri
- support-email
Later it can act as seed for public solid providers directory, for now it would at lest give community some notion of how many pods got deployed out there and contact list where we could now and then send out a survey requesting feedback about their deployments.

Research direction
Start by locating the init script and reviewing how deployment options are defined. Clarify the private registry endpoint and submission behavior, then determine how server-uri and support-email would be collected and transmitted. Done means an opt-in init-script option can submit those fields to the Solid Community registry.
